The Variants all basically work the same way, but some of the parts are more complex on the earlier models, and the newer models have better armor penetration. Ok I just got this gun and mag my gunsmith has it now as he as he is also is the FFL dealer and it only fed a couple of rounds after loading so he took it apart to empty the bullets and he cant figure out how to attach the end of the spiral spring to the slotted metal core ?

  • @stardudez
    @stardudez 14 часов назад

    What does the tiny pin do ? Does it secure the spring so it works right ? I just got one and the spring is loose in the mag I can see where it fits in the slot bu what holds it in?

    • @Stray03
      @Stray03 10 часов назад

      The spring hooks into the part and should stay in there just because it is under some tension. Haven't had it out for a while but the pin locks the piece the spring catches to the case no?

    I just bought the 87A about a week ago and took it home to test fire. I only put 2 (22LR High Velocity) rounds down the tube to see how it cycled. The second round jammed.

    • @Stray03
      @Stray03 День назад

      Ah. Well if you haven't yet give the gun a good cleaning. Check the follower to make sure it isn't jamming, and check the spring on the lifter to make sure it is in the right direction.

      Maybe weak mag tube spring, or dirty or damaged tube. Clean the gun well, relubricate and see if it helps. If not look for damage or "delay" with the feed when the spring is pushed in and released.

    While Looking up info because someone Used this theory in a video and cited a person who wrote their article after my video came out, I found a link to a 2005 wiki "Talk" where a user by the name of "ChrisRed" mentioned the airport code. As such For now I consider the theory I thought I came up with a waste of a few hours of my time, and although I did expand on it, I will consider it his theory until someone finds mention of it from earlier. "Some additional info...(According to www.worldaerodata.com) Santiago Los Cerrillos's VOR beacon still to this day sends its identity in morse as 'STI'. Modern-day callsigns for the old Los Cerrillos (it's closing soon, by the way) airport are all in the 'SCTI' series, but these are a more recent development. It would be great if some old timer could produce an old navchart, but logic suggests 'STR'-'Radio'; 'STT'-'Tower'; 'STG'-'Ground' etc. Morse buffs will have already spotted that you 'can' make a very drunken-sounding 'STEND' out of the chopped-up bits of 'SCTI', but that would be the morse of a barely-conscious man, and (although Tupungato is a formidable-looking mountain) [1] it just isn't high enough for oxygen deficiency to be a factor. They were sold that way as complete firearms. They are looked at by our federal firearms program when they are originally brought in so they determined that it was not needed as they already modified other parts. Importing full auto parts is Also illegal so there is no way of getting anything brought in legally. Our laws look at firearms as how hard they are to convert to to full auto. If it passes a certain threshold it is accepted. Just having that slot doesn't make it a full auto. Glocks are legal and they are easier to make fun.

    Forgotten Weapons made it sound like the PIAT couldn't fire very far, the distance the projectile is going in this video looks to be pretty far. That being said I bet it's different in the heat of battle when a nazi panzer is baring down on you?

    • @Stray03
      @Stray03 2 месяца назад

      Direct fire role you had about 110 yards. As with most things that is the "max" you wanted to fire it at. The closer the more chance that you would hit what you aimed at. Indirect you could lob it out to about 325-350 yards.

    In the comparison of the PIAT against the American M1 to M9 bazooka, the German Panzerschreck bazooka, and the German Panzerfaust anti-tank bomb dispenser, there was no clear winner. None of the anti-tank infantry weapons held a clear SUPERIOR position over the others. The reason was that each infantry anti-tank weapon held one clear, distinct advantage that made it desirable over the overs given the user's preference. The PIAT's distinct advantage was its capability for being used just about anywhere without lethal backblast nor giving away the firer's position. The PIAT could be used indoors. The American bazooka clearly held the range advantage in 200 yards for the M1 series to 220 yards for the M9 series. The German Panzerschreck held a lower range of 150 meters or so. The Panzerfaust held the distinction of being used by only one operator, was disposable, and the very image of simplicity to use. The bazookas were the next easiest to learn and use. Post-war the Americans kept their bazooka relevant by introducing a larger, more effective model, the M20 Super Bazooka, whose shaped charge warhead could penetrate six inches of plate armor. The British Army took the expedient step of adopted the M20 as an interim infantry anti-tank weapon until a new, domestic anti-tank weapon could be designed. The West German Army would in the 1960s introduce a modernized Panzerfaust, the highly effective Panzerfaust III with a reusable launcher tube. The Soviets adopted the WW2 German Panzerfaust 250 design which did had not gone into production. The result was the iconic, ubiquitous, world-known RPG-7 anti-tank rocket launcher, capable of penetrating six inches or more of tank armor.

    • @Stray03
      @Stray03 2 месяца назад

      The superbazooka came from the panzerschreck which was the Germans upgrade to the American bazooka . Getting a larger diameter on the shaped charge increased the armor penetration. Meaning that although the bazooka had a decent range it was the least "powerful" of the weapons. As you said they didn't really have much of an advantage over the others. And in the end evening their range was listed as a certain distance taking shots at those ranges were no where near accurate enough to guarantee a kill. Also just a side note the pzf250 was probably what became the RPG-2 and then the 7 was an upgrade to that. That was a good overview of the different systems. Thanks for the response.

    Am I the only person who got one defective from the factory? Mag body is so undersized the spiral can't move. The act of trying to load it deformed the spiral with very deep grooves. Even if I open up the inside of the mag body with a dremel, I'm still not sure the spiral won't snag from the grooves, now.
